Doing Hard Things
A lot of our problems seem to stem from the simple fact that we resist doing hard things. The easy way out is … well … much easier. But is it though? Maybe initially. But in the long run of life, doing hard things, things that scare you, things that challenge you - that’s where growth happens. That’s where change happens. Some call it stretching our “comfort zone.” And this would be true. Getting out of your comfort zone can be uncomfortable.
Once you rise to the challenge, any hard thing you are facing, you get a few wins under your belt and it becomes fun, satisfying. You realize you’re stronger than you imagined. Your mind and mental strength become stronger.
Some hard things could include waking up early, taking that long walk every day, meeting new people, changing a negative mind-set, practicing a new skill, or learning something new (like creating a website from scratch and teaching yourself what you need to know!) Doing hard things can help you overcome procrastination and propel you to at least TRY to go after your dreams. To help you head in the direction that you truly desire.
Doing hard things is important. Start small, grow big.
Like the old saying goes, “A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.”
